Living in the Bulgarian fairytale of trash, gypsies and clean schools

Does the today journalism care about the pollution?
I suppose unless people aren`t killed at one time on one place at the same moment, the today`s journalism won`t show a great attention to the enivonmental problems.

The last case, on which the Bulgarian daily "Trud" turned attention, was something more then just special. It stood as Picture of the Day in the website of the media. It was written more ironicaly, then informatively, maybe because the Bulgarians are well aware of the pollution situation in the country.

As it is written next to the photo made by Atanas Jekov:
This is not a dung-hill, it is the schoolyard of the 12-th school in Stara Zagora (one of the big cities in the country). The in the area living gypsies throw away their trash. They say that the containers are too far away from their homes. Hell of a good reason, isn`t it? Unfortunetly the school porter can`t manage the whole bunch of trash...

Do you find that normal in the 21 century?

I assume my statement is more then clear. We are the people, who let things happen that way in our own country. It all depends on us, because we build the institutions, we build the society, its mentality and etc.

Killing has been always part of the human history. But generations learn at least to kill "by policy", not how the Turks and the Nazis have done.

It's the school yard? Then somebody did not do their job. Or several somebodys.

And what does normal mean? Do you think people killing each other is normal? That also happens in the 21 century.

This is disaster, unfortunatelly.

Yes, but the problem groups are more then the these of the normal people. I also know educated gypsies, but they can be counted on my fingers. It is up to the society to handle such problems - despite of people`s nationality. The Germans have the same problem, but with their own punks...

I don't know the Bulgarian situation, but in Romania I don't think gypsies are necessarily another problem the government should deal with. It's true that a law that would frown upon them to make countless kids would help.

But the same law should be valid for everybody else. We have Romanians (not gypsies) that behave like rabid animals and think the environment is their personal spawning playground.

We must not forget that although many gypsies pickpocket and beg, there are some others who are perfectly educated and well behaved, and do their best to live and develop within and along the rest of the society.

Unfortunetly I don`t believe that this ethnic group can be thought to act smart. It`s useless to expect sudden change in Bulgaria from the gypsies, who have been teached to live how they want thanks to the government. That is why they born 3-4-5 children and make them beg and still or hope they`ll become invalids for more certain............And the government HELPs that.

It's not normal for us, but it is for whoever throws the garbage out there. It happens quite often in my country, too. Lack of education (and I'm not talking about being book smart necessary, but more of what parents teach you, what you grow up with, life principles, etc) is unfortunately one of the biggest issues here. And behaviors like the one you mention go from generation to generation and become reflexes.
