Guys, it looks like the EPP declared (via MEP Martens) they will support Barroso as President of the Commission. Not too much of a surprise. You can read more about it here: http://www.europeanvoice.com/article/2009/01/barroso-remains-right-s-favoured-commission-president/63805.aspx
Which reminded me of the discussion we had with the MEPs... why do you think having political groups designate candidates for the Presidency of the EP is better than them keeping it a secret? Aren't we…

Dear fellow bloggers, follow this link http://jmecelab.com/2008/06/13/the-lisbon-treaty/ to watch an interview with MEP Dr. Richard Corbett (we all had the chance to listen to him on the second day of the Brussels Event). The interview was organised by the JMECE Lab (www.jmecelab.com). What happened to the EU’s draft CONSTITUTION? Is it the LISBON TREATY? … or is the Lisbon treaty something else altogether? Should there be a referendum? Dr. Richard Corbett discussed some of the key provisions…

Dear all,
I promised a couple of you to keep you updated about the progress of my photo exhibition. Here you go: the project is making solid progress. Both presentations (one in Luxembourg and one in The Hague) have been received with enthusiasm. The budgetary questions remain, but should be addressed within the next two weeks. In the meantime, EC in Luxembourg will print and distribute 50 copies of the demo book to all 27 representations of the EC and some other potential event…

Have a read of
this. Apparently Europarl TV has only 40000 visitors a month - a tiny number. Would be a good subject for a blog post - why so few, why has the project not worked yet?
I look foward to reading some interesting analysis!

Ok. Silly idea but think of it as a Team building exercise. Ever since I set my eyes on Wilfred Rutten i could not stop thinking who he reminded me of... after a day of wondering (not all the time) I finally hit on the idea... I had been thinking in the wrong category (Hollywood Stars) and instead as soon as I thought of politicians I got the answer immediately.... Hamid Karzai (Afghanistan). I hope Wilfred does not take offence (after all Hamid is a handsome man)... how about a lookalike…

I have just got the information about a
Youtube Channel dedicated to the World Economic Forum at Davos. A young Columbian videoblogger, Pablo Camacho, reports live from the conference - after having won a vlogging competition - and do little interviews with World Thinkers. From what I have seen, Pablo is doing a great job: asking questions and letting others speak. My questions are: Who will listen to the answers? And what impact will they have - if…

Just my 0.02 to thank the EJC and the competitors for the Brussels event. You we're great, really!
As this is my
n-th blogging conference, and it's still January so I am not expected to be concerning about EU-related business yet, I made a tiny
blogging conference bingo.

To play, simply print out this bingo sheet and attend a Web-related conference. The first one to fill a straight line or all four corners…

I suppose (and hope), that (almost) all of you heard about
AEGEE (European Students' Forum) and our project
"Y Vote 2009" during the launch event in Brussels. :) As I noticed, there were quite a few people interested to find out about the project and organisation in general more, so I'll post some basic information.
Y Vote 2009…

I've never blogged before. I've written a diary (*long* time ago). I've written hundreds of articles and thousands, maybe even millions of e-mails and letters.
I've never read blogs before. Started to do it today. Still trying to understand what kind of blogs do I like, how do they look like and in what ways they are different from each other.
I have no idea what is the right word for "blog" in…

Dear all,
I'm still 'high' on intellectual and international inspiration from the past days in Brussels!! It's been so great being back in that atmosphere of 'let's do something and make some influence on the World around us'. I can't wait till this gets properly started and will be looking forward to read your blogs.
Lots of energetic thought to you all, Julie
