In Finland we had many demonstrations on the stairs of parliamentary building, it's one of the favorite places for protest.
April 23, 2009
Yes, I think that inside parliament or government building protesting is not allowed. Also if there is some top level international meeting, police can show place with some distance from it.
April 23, 2009
In Finland everybody can participate to demonstration but you need to be Finn to organize it. One does not need any permission but one should inform police six hours before demonstration – verbal info enough. Some person should be acting as contact…

Coming back to my earlier comment about bio energy I would like to add that I don't see all bio energy bad. In Finland e.g. after forestry works some waste wood stays left same in saw mills and this waste is possible to use in energy production e.g.…

My critics was only against bioenergy because aspects of health, environment, foodproduction and rainforest decrease etc.
April 21, 2009
Personally I avoid to speak about green energy. Some bioenergy sources (was it palm oil?) are destroying more ecology than sawing it; some bioenergy farms e.g. in Finland are ecologically good but are causing local health problems (allergic reaction…

The Nabucco-South Stream race intensifies

The race between the two EU's eastern gas pipelines is going on while next winter can again show some supply problems via Ukraine. South Stream got latest boost on 11th November 2009 as Russia's Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko and Slovenian Economy Minister Matej Lahovnik signed an agreement on the passage of the South Stream gas pipeline acrossContinue

New Player in Caspian Sea Power Corridor

Competition – or development – of EU's eastern gas supply routes has intensified this year. Both EU/U.S. backed Nabucco and Russia's South Stream have made deals to guarantee realization of new pipelines until 2015. The EU’s new “southern corridor” - Nabucco as essential part of it - has been dubbed a version of U.S. “Silk Road Strategy” aimed to block Russia from gas fields around Caspian Sea and its connection to Iran. Russia on the other hand wants direct access to EU markets without transContinue

The three other main news was U.S. FM Clinton’s visit in EP, communication strategy of EP elections and EP voting about publicity directive. In same article was also link to campaign.

Brussels feedback

Dear All,

I would hereby thank EJC for organizing successful event in Brussels. The speakers were real professionals, facilities were operating, schedule was kept and program was interesting. From experience I know it is not easy task to manage international conference for 100 people. You did it with remarkable way. Thanks.

I would also like to thank participants for informative and nice discussions. Even with today's communication mean I prefer old fashion face to face meetings. From those wi… Continue

Ari,

I joined this site as a result of your recent posting about depleted uranium. There are a large number of errors in this. You appear to have confined your research to only those sites maintained by anti-DU activists or their sympathesizers and to have ignored the genuine scientists around the world. I have been researching DU and some of the character pseudo scientists and con artists who have been leading what I call the anti-DU crusade since the fall of 2004. I have become the expert on a couple of them who you seem to have adopted to make your posting - Leuren Moret and Douglas Lind Rokke, both of whom are not what they claim to be and who actually know very little about DU and have perverted what little that they do know to deliberately mislead the public. I look forward to your contacting me.
